Surplus Titanium Sheet Grade 2 ASTM F 67

» Titanium Grade 5

This alpha-beta alloy is the workhorse alloy of the titanium industry. The alloy is fully heat-treatable in section sizes up to one inch, and is used up to approximately 400° C (750°F). Since it is the most commonly used alloy - over 50 per cent of all alloy grades melted are a sub-grade of Ti-6-4 - its applications span many turbine and airframes and also several industrial applications.

The addition of 0.05% palladium, (Grade 24) increases corrosion resistance in reducing acid chloride and sour environments.

» Ti6Al4V ELI Grade 5 (former Grade 23)

The essential difference between Ti 6Al 4V ELI and Ti6Al4V (tial6 4, 6al 4v) is the reduction of oxygen content to 0.13% max in ELI. This confers improved ductility and fracture toughness, with some reduction in strength. ELI has been widely used in fracture critical airframe structures and for offshore tubulars. Work is continuing to optimize mechanical properties through processing and heat treatment. Grade 25 is identical to Grade 5 with the addition of 0.05% Pd and 0.3 - 0.8% Ni.
