» Surface Finish
In most medical applications, surface finish is critical to the wire's performance. This mill exclusively uses diamond dies in oil based lubricants when drawing wire. This not only yields a superior surface finish but also insures more consistent dimensional stability, mechanical properties and cleanliness.
Diamond drawn wire has a very bright and clean surface which does not require further cleaning for most applications. If, however, a higher level of cleanliness is needed, an alkaline bath, ultrasonic cleaning or a solvent wipe can be provided. Short lengths of straightened and cut wire may also be passivated and cleaned if required.
